Working toward health equity for all
We believe health is a human right. Every person deserves the chance to live their healthiest life. But we recognize that long-standing inequities and systemic injustices exist in the world. This has led to health disparities among communities that have been marginalized because of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, religion or socioeconomic status.

Regional spotlight
We offer many Caregiver Resource Groups and caregivers systemwide are taking action on a personal and/or regional level to drive change.
At Digital Innovation Group, a consumer-facing technology group within Providence, “DEI Discussions” empower caregivers to have hard conversations around race, sexuality, gender and other topics that they experience and that impact how they deliver their work.
One of the health equity programs in Alaska pairs trained Providence community health workers with vulnerable communities to create bridges to critical health and social services. Their goal is to remove or reduce issues caused by difference in language, culture, negative past experiences, transportation, lack of insurance and health literacy.
