Providence Senior Director, Philanthropy - Campaign - Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, California

Description

Under the direction of the Chief Philanthropy Officer, the Senior Director of Philanthropy, Campaigns (SDPC) is a member of the Foundation leadership team. The SDPC is responsible for the planning, execution, and evaluation of a comprehensive campaign.

The SDPC will serve as the liaison to the Real Estate Operations team which is overseeing the construction of our master plan expansion. In addition, the SDPC will be a working member of the Foundation's team of principal gift, major gift, and planned giving team. The SDPC will manage a portfolio of prospects targeting significant six figure and above gifts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Plan, manage, and evaluate a comprehensive fund-raising campaign.

  • Oversee the creation of the campaign leadership prospectus, case for support and other campaign-related marketing materials.

  • Manage the Campaign Task Force comprised of caregivers from across the ministry and philanthropy shared services teams.

  • Oversee the development of the campaign volunteer leadership structure including multiple committees and 200+ volunteers.

  • Secure financial support by managing a portfolio of major gift prospects through the process of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.

  • Identify and establish relationships with key stakeholders (physicians, grateful patients, volunteers and hospital administrators) in an effort to help identify and engage new prospects, develop strategy and steward existing donors.

  • Actively participate on the Foundation’s senior leadership team and collaborate with other Foundation colleagues in annual giving, events, the divisional shared services office, and donor relations to increase Foundation contributed revenue and capacity.

  • Represent Foundation in a positive and professional manner at internal and external meetings, events and activities.

  • Other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Master's Degree in an advanced degree is highly desirable; or equivalent educ/experience (preferred)

  • 10 or more years of progressively responsible fundraising experience

  • 10 or more years of experience successfully raising six (6)- and seven (7)-figure gifts; significant leadership experience in the planning and conduct of at least one major campaign in the nine-figure range; and demonstrated experience in the inspiration and motivation of teams around a shared initiative

  • 8 years of Leadership experience

  • 5 years of Comprehensive fundraising experience highly desired (preferred)

  • Action oriented and results driven

  • Business/organizational acumen

  • Donor focused

  • Ability to interact with high-net-worth individuals with varied backgrounds, interests and professions

  • Discretion and high level of professionalism

  • Displays values that are in line with the organization

  • Skilled listener

  • Effective presentation skills and the ability to motivate others

  • Enthusiasm for mission and vision

  • Thorough knowledge in all areas of fundraising with particular emphasis on major gift acquisition, principal gift strategies and planned gift vehicles

  • Excellent understanding of Comprehensive Fundraising

  • Ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships with the Foundation and SHS leadership, physicians, SHS staff, volunteers and all donors and prospects

  • Demonstrated ability in management, finance, communication and marketing.
