Providence Executive Director, IS Applications in Missoula, Montana

Remote Opportunity [ Eligible states: WA, OR, CA, MT, AK, TX, and NM ]
The purpose of this position is to provide excellence in application leadership which includes, implementations and support for Providence St Joseph Health and affiliated organizations and their instances of Epic, with a focus on Cardiology, Medical Diagnostic Imaging (X-ray, CT, MRI), Patient Monitoring, and dictation applications. The essential functions of this position include executing and driving application strategic plans, roadmap deployment, resource planning and utilization, direction of application services operational support initiatives, vendor management, budget management within respective application focus areas. This includes the identification, assessment, and execution of individual application road maps, requirements, sponsorship of implementation activities, production support of applications within span of control, and effective management of vendor relationships. This position is responsible for budgeting, leading, mentoring and developing directors and managers as well as other staff. This position will work in close collaboration with executives, clinical governance and other senior leaders across the PSJH and affiliates. This position is responsible for the overall integrity of the application build and infrastructure, the success of application integration, product introductions, and may also have accountability for other services and business relationships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintains relationships with key business partners and other senior leaders, as well as key contacts in the IT industry in order to leverage best practices, and to evaluate and manage emerging technologies.
Supports appropriate service delivery models for core application functions by defining, delivering and improving services for the enterprise and its caregivers.
Ensures that the Epic applications division supports IS services and systems effectively, and partners with business and clinical leadership to meet organizational objectives and strategic goals.
Manage customer expectations regarding the success of Information Services strategies and projects; ensures measurable outcomes are defined and reported for each strategy or project.
Responsible for working with key stakeholders including executives, senior leaders, and a variety of customers to identify and deliver technical solutions that are effective and user-friendly, and support strategic initiatives, business and clinical outcomes.
Ensures the performance of applications and evaluates the performance of services on the basis of specific KPIs.
Manages budgeting and expenditures for applications, staff and services within a defined span of control. Develops budgets in partnership with Vice President to achieve IS financial targets.
Directs and oversees compliance with policies and procedures for applications that impact all of PSJH.
Attracts, hires, trains, motivates, retains, and develops a team of first-rate professionals to perform the responsibilities of applications management.
Maintains internal operations in order to meet or exceed Service Level Agreements, Operating Level Agreements, and associated KPIs.
Responsible for coordinating and facilitating teamwork with multidisciplinary groups, building and reaching consensus; agreeing upon a course of action where there are multiple perspectives.
As appropriate, manages and/or escalates critical issues problems or delays in production, projects or other initiatives that have an impact on the customer.
Actively oversees the optimization of processes to improve service delivery, increase value and promote customer service and satisfaction.
Responsible for executing application strategic plans and product roadmap, its benefits and integration points for Providence St. Joseph, and the ways in which it supports the organizations strategies and stated outcomes objectives.
Responsible for teams success of Epic programs: Gold Stars, Staying Current and Honor Roll.
Responsible to understand the key deliverables and interdependencies of Epic modules and integration with other applications and major platforms.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Information Services; or equivalent education/experience
10 or more years of Information Services leadership experience
5 years of experience working in a healthcare environment
3 years of leadership in an IS Application environment
Upon hire: Applicable Epic Certification when required is to be completed within 3 months of last class required for certification
Upon hire: Some application suites require advanced application certification as demonstrated by a current application software certification requirement (i.e., Epic)
Within 90 days of hire: Epic Certification
